The ‘engine wiring harnesses on the body side’ of the W202 also suffer from embrittlement of the cable insulation. However, it is not the complete wiring harness that is affected, but only individual strands.
This makes the repair an economical solution. The defective harnesses are replaced in their entirety, including connectors. The cables used are FLR6Y cables with a temperature resistance of almost 200°C.
