These days, our automotive treasures are cherished and cared for rather than being driven out into the streets in all kinds of weather.
Long periods of inactivity lead to a gradual discharge of the battery, as small currents continue to flow even when the vehicle is at rest. To keep the battery fully charged for as long as possible without recharging, the circuit should be disconnected. This can be done by unscrewing the ground terminal—a rather tedious task. In addition, there are already a variety of battery disconnect switches, NATO plugs, etc. None of them are really suitable for the trunk battery in the W124 E500 or 500E, or in the R129.
We have therefore configured a battery disconnect switch so that it can be installed perfectly in the trunk of the aforementioned vehicles. This kit relocates the switch behind the battery to leave room for the cover.
In addition to the basic on-off function, our disconnect switch features a third position on the rotary knob that allows it to be removed. This provides additional theft protection.
